- The article discusses the efforts of the World bank to combat corruption. According to the author, Paul Wolfowitz, president of World Bank in 2005 has decided to take a strong position on corruption, developing on the work of his predecessor but taking it in a much more inflicting direction. The author mentions that in 2005, Wolfowitz declared that fundings on some high profile programs would be cut, including loans to some largest clients of the Bank, citing concerns about corruption.
