Abstract:: Justina Ascencao was interviewed at her store, Madeira Liquore, on April 9, 2008. Born in Madeira, Portugal in 1948, Justina came to the United States to marry her husband in 1970. Though they moved around Rhode Island and Massachusetts, they spent considerable time in Pawtucket, and raised their three children in South Attelboro. Justina came to the Fox Point area in 1992 to run her liquor store. She does so to this day with the help of her daughters and her husband.
