Interview with Joseph Medeiros

Abstract:
Joseph Medeiros was born in 1946 in the Azores Islands, Portugal. He moved to the United States at age 9 in 1955, joining his mother who had moved to Providence one year previous. He grew up in the Fox Point neighborhood, living on Preston St. with his mother and two brothers, Louis and Carl. Medeiros benefited from the first Boys Club and loved all the programming they had to offer. He also enjoyed playing baseball with various teams in Providence as a young man. Medeiros is a member of the Portuguese American Social Club. He spent time at the club many times throughout his life, but became a member in 1996. This interview took place at the PASC.
