- David Craig lived in Fox Point from his birth in 1946 until he left for college in Virginia in 1964. He has fond memories of his childhood in the neighborhood, especially playing with neighborhood children and the local churches. His mother, of African-American heritage, was very active and influential in the neighbornood, leading the first Fox Point Elementary PTA, and eventually becoming minister of the Sheldon St. Church in the 1990s. Craig talks at length abou the ethnic demographics of Fox Point and of racism in this neighborhood. He sees the biggest, and perhaps the only, influential force on the changing neighborhood to be Brown University and feels the presence of Brown University student renters to have dramatically lowered the quality of life in Fox Point.
