Calabash jongo

Description

Abstract:
Although, in his field notes, Koetting does not identify the song titles or texts for the second and fourth jongo songs in this section of reel tape 119, he details the texts for the first and third songs as follows: (1) A yi nwuru ho, a yi nwuru ho, nwuru gu Navania nan mama; (2) unable to identify text; (3) nwina, nwina nwina bela tampoggo ba nwina; (4) unable to identify text.

Instrumentation: half calabashes (3 or 4), kori (1), gungongwe (2), keriga, wui (3), voices (many)
