François Thomas Galbaud-Dufort, governor of Saint-Domingue, became embroiled in the political clash between the Commissaires as represented by Sonthonax and the governer, after which Sonthonax had him arrested on June 12, 1793. This letter to the Convention from prison protests his arrest.
