- Abstract:
- Here is a set of engravings showing various events from the Austro-Prussian War and the related Third War of Italian Independence of 1866. Above are two scenes from the Battle of Turnau in Austria, the second of which shows Prussian Ulan cavalry officers overseeing Austrian prisoners of war. Below are scenes of the Italian theater of war in 1866. On the left Venetians rejoice over the news that Austria was pulling out of the region following its defeat by the Prussians at the Battle of Sadowa. The remaining scenes are of the area around Lake Garda in which Austrians and their Tyrolean allies challenge Italian efforts to seize Austrian-controlled lands in the northest of the Italy.
