Interview with Eileen Afonso

Abstract:
A lifelong resident of Fox Point, Afonso is the daughter of Manuel Pedrosa (proprietor of Friends Market and also interviewed for this collection). Afonso now teaches fourth grade at the Vartan Gregorian School. Her interview discusses her memories of growing up on Brook Street, going to school in Fox Point, and the role of Friends Market in the community. She also discusses ways the neighborhood has changed over time.
