El Formador [The Creator].

Description

Abstract:
Note: Solamente había inmovilidad y silencio en la oscuridad, en la noche. Sólo el Creador, el Formador, Tepeu, Gucumatz, los Progenitores, estaban en el agua rodeados de claridad [There was only stillness and silence in the darkness, in the night. Only the Creator, the Former, Tepeu, Gucumatz, the Progenitors, were in the water surrounded by light]. Ink and watercolor on paper. This piece draws on the Popol Vuh, the sacred K’iche’ Maya text that recounts the creation of the world, the gods, and the first humans.
