- Abstract:
- One of the main geological features of Sweden is its basement rocks, among the Earth’s oldest, dating to more than 2.5 billion years ago.The foundation of south-central Sweden is called the Fennoscandian Shield, a portion of the Earth’s crust that is primarily composed of granites, gneisses, and other metamorphic rocks. Taberg is located just south of lake Vättern which lies within a depression formed by the Earth's crust pulling apart between two Precambrian terrains.
