- Letters to the editor of The Times from R.F. Clarke, Edwin A. Abbott, Karl Blind, W.B. Lilly, and G.A.S., in response to the ongoing discussion regarding Philip Hermogenes Calderon's painting "St. Elizabeth of Hungary's Great Act of Renunciation". Clarke's letter is in response to Abbott's letter published May 21, 1891. Abbott's letter is in response to a letter published May 23,1981 and signed "Fair Play".
