Dated on p. 18: From the national palace at Port-au-Prince, this 6th day of May 1826, twenty-third year of independence, Boyer, by the president.
English translation of the Code rural of Haiti, as issued by the president Boyer and printed in Port-au-Prince in 1826; the code covered such issues as boundaries between estates, laborers and landowners, farm animals and grazing, the maintenance of public and private roads, and rural policing.
