Abstract:: Interview with Dorothy Kay Fishbein, class of 1945, conducted on May 9, 1988 by Leigh Hercher, class of 1991, at Kays home in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. In this segment of the interview, Kay discusses her work as a retailer; her coursework at Pembroke; the camaraderie among students at Pembroke and her disappointment about the Colleges merger with Brown; traveling to New York as a retailer; shopping and salesmanship; and femininity and gender expectations in the 1940s and afterward.
