A second edition was printed by Wilhelm Wessel in Kassel in 1601.
A record of the festival and tournament held in Kassel in August 1596 in honor of the baptism of Elizabeth of Hessen-Kassel.
"Erster part der achten inuention von America", p. 42-46, includes a history of the voyages to America with sections on cannibals, Brazil, Mexican gods, and "naked" Virginians.
Illustrations include depictions of American Indians playing instruments, and an Amazon.
Text primarily in German with prefatory and other material in Latin.
