Abstract:
Bronze sculpture by Leonard Crunelle, created to commemorate the second Lincoln-Douglas debate, held at Freeport, Illinois, on August 27, 1858, at which the "Freeport Doctrine" was articulated. Unveiled at Freeport on the 71st anniversary of the debate, August 27, 1929.
