Description
- Abstract:
- Enlargement of a 1928 snapshot showing Ovid Edouard Pettis encountering Taft's statue "Lincoln, the Advocate" in San Francisco's Lincoln Park during the National Sculpture Loan Exhibition that year. A handwritten subtitle on the face of the photograph reads, "Seventy years after, the Drummer Boy of '61 meets again his Country's Leader." Pettis became one of the ten charter members of the Abraham Lincoln Fellowship (headquartered in Berkeley, California) upon the founding of the Fellowship in 1931.
