- In this caricature of Lincoln's inauguration, he is pictured wearing the American flag as a cape, carrying the amended constitution while marching into the White House. Various figures representing the European nations follow him exclaiming, "Shades of mon uncles! How he has grown!", "Goodness me! Yes! and he keeps on growing", "Allah! Bismallah! May his shadow never be less!"
