Description

Abstract:
Shelley Lonergan and Peggy Mutter begin by discussing their first jobs in the library and what they thought of the new Rockefeller building. They talk about the technology of those early days including the electric typewriters and explain the process of "needling" to check for overdue material. They then discuss previous library physical layouts and how they changed over the years. They also mention long ago staff members, patrons, and some funny and embarassing moments. They finish with a discussion of some of the newer technologies and how they have changed the experience of using the library.
