- Here, Columbia is represented as a pre-Raphaelite woman with long wavy hair, wearing a classical dress adorned with the stars and stripes. In her left arm, she holds the dove of peace, an olive branch in its beak. On her right arm sits the eagle of war. She asks "Which answer shall I send?"
