Toward a distinction between literary poetry and folk songs

Abstract:
Discussing the assimilation of poems and lyrics, this paper examines cases of poems transposed into songs, as well as lyrics read as poems, along the Brazilian history of popular songs. It makes its point in stating the differential status of the two genres.
Discutindo a assimilação de poemas e letras, este artigo examina casos de poemas transpostos em músicas, além de letras lidas como poemas, ao longo da história brasileira das canções populares. Ele faz questão de afirmar o status diferencial dos dois gêneros.
