Description
- Abstract:
- Photograph of the stove from the Lincoln home (Springfield, Il.). The stove was in the possession of Osborn Oldroyd, who was the unofficial "curator" of the Lincoln Home. When Oldroyd was fired as the Lincoln Home custodian, he stole more than two dozen items from the home, including the Lincolns' heavy, cast-iron stove. Over the years, the stove and other pilfered items have been returned.
