Abraham Lincoln

Description

Abstract:
Engraved portrait of Abraham Lincoln. This portrait is one of the many composite engravings done of the president (the Sartains were particularly prodigious in this area), which took Lincoln's head and placed it on the bodies of other men in an effort to save costs. It is unknown whose body the president is occupying here. The head likeness is from an 1864 photograph taken by Berger.
