- In the second half of the 19th century, in Brazil, a modality of press directed by women arose, which made the discussion of relevant themes for the feminine universe possible, highlighting, among others, the access to education, to the vote and to the professionalization. In this sense, 'A Mensageira' magazine, directed by Presciliana Duarte de Almeida, stands out, circulating between 1897 and 1900. In addition to being the director of the publication, Presciliana was responsible for several sections, writing articles, poems, and literary criticism. Thus, the purpose of this study is to present 'A Mensageira' and comment on non-literary texts by the magazine's editor.
- Na segunda metade do século XIX, surgiu no Brasil uma modalidade de imprensa dirigida por mulheres, a qual possibilitou a discussão de temas relevantes para o universo feminino, destacando-se, entre outros, o acesso à educação, ao voto e à profissionalização. Nesse sentido, evidencia-se a revista 'A Mensageira', dirigida por Presciliana Duarte de Almeida, que circulou entre 1897 e 1900. Presciliana, além de diretora da publicação, era responsável por diversas seções, escrevendo artigos de opinião, poemas, crítica literária. Dessa maneira, o propósito deste estudo é apresentar a revista 'A Mensageira' e comentar textos não literários da editora da revista.
