- This article analyses the negative reception around Rui Ramos’s edition and, particularly, the chapters he was responsible for in 'História de Portugal'. The goal is to understand what factors determined the criticism of this work. Besides delving into the author’s estranged relationship with the community of Portuguese historians, this article is mostly interested in studying how audiences might have read the text as a rehabilitation of old-fashioned political history or a hidden ideological agenda.
- Este artigo analisa a receção negativa da edição de Rui Ramos e, particularmente, os capítulos de sua responsabilidade em 'História de Portugal'. O objetivo é compreender quais fatores determinaram as críticas à obra. Para além de abordar a difícil relação entre o autor e a comunidade de historiadores portugueses, este artigo se interessa em estudar a maneira como o público pôde ter interpretado o texto como uma recuperação de uma história política obsoleta ou um texto com uma agenda política oculta.
