L' Arcade Saint-Jean

Description

Abstract:
The Arcade Saint-Jean is seen here from the opposite end of a very narrow street typical of early nineteenth-century Paris. With the construction of so many new buildings around it, the archway became so crowded in on both sides that only its roof and spires were visible from a distance by 1830.
