- In lieu of an abstract, this is an excerpt from the first page: "Ah, me and my beetle! It was their ads that grabbed me' The beetle's a small car, and when I get in it I feel small too. Not in size—in the noodle, if you get my drift. Inside the machine I'm a kid again, just like in the orphanage, except there's nobody bugging me or spying on me. After three lousy lessons I could drive this heap Iike a pro; getting my license was a piece of cake. I'm something else behind the wheel. I'm not afraid to floor it, and if I ever get mine someday, I hope it's with the VW emblem stamped on my guts. But if that day comes, the'll find my líttle beauty fully eguipped, with every accessory the auto supply has to offer."
