- This text, written in 1926, is an excerpt from "O Estadista" (The Statesman), an unpublished novel by Gaucho writer Dyonelio Machado (1895-1985). The discovery of the original manuscript of O Estadista," by the researcher M. Z. Grawunder, was due to the Organization of the Literary Collection of Dyonelio Machado, member of the project Sources of Brazilian Literature, at the Center of Literary Research of PUCRS. One of the great names in Brazilian literature, Dyonelio has eleven published novels, among them "Os Ratos" (The Rats), "O Louco do Cati" (The Madman from Cati), "Desolação" (Desolation), "Passos Perdidos" (Lost Steps) and "Deuses Econômicos" (Economic Gods). His first published book, in fiction, was "Um Pobre Homem" (A Poor Man), short stories (1927).
- Este texto, de 1926, é um excerto de "O Estadista", romance inédito do escritor gaúcho Dyonelio Machado (1895- 1985). A descoberta do original manuscrito de "O Estadista", pela pesquisadora M. Z. Grawunder, deveu-se à Organização do Acervo Literário de Dyonelio Machado, integrante do projeto Fontes da Literatura Brasileira, do Centro de Pesquisas Literárias da PUCRS. Um dos grandes nomes ela literatura brasileira, Dyonelio tem onze romances editados, entre eles "Os Ratos", "O Louco do Cati", "Desolação", "Passos Perdidos", "Deuses Econômicos". Seu primeiro livro publicado, em ficção, foi "Um Pobre Homem", contos (1927).
