- With envelope postmarked Jul 12, 1934 and enclosed advertisement for "Holiness Meeting Tabernacle" in Ocean Grove, NJ. HPL mentions several manuscripts: "I doubt if he [Loveman] knows anything about the 2nd Recluse, & think he has mislaid the Shunned House ms. At one time he said something which makes me think he has the Ms. of the story I ghost-wrote for Houdini. Belknap's Recluse story was something about a Christian martyr in Velentia (Spain) during the Roman period, & he may have the Ms. somewhere. I don't recall the title. No proofs. And this reminds me - I never saw or heard of any "Strange High House" proofs, even if Cook made such."
