- The current research focused on collating national and international news related to the film Não Sou Nada – The Nothingness Club, by Portuguese filmmaker Edgar Pêra, with a time frame from July 2020 to April 2024. According to the initial motivation, we sought to understand, through the film, what kind of representations the media devoted to Fernando Pessoa and Edgar Pêra. There was also an interest in understanding the place the film would occupy in the public sphere, through the mediation of the mass media. The subsequent analysis of the data provided some answers to the questions raised and led us to other kinds of questions that were not initially anticipated. Thus, we have found that the majority of news information disseminated in Portugal is characterized by the uncritical reproduction of press releases or information from news agencies. Beyond the evidence listed, in this review we have tried to question the role of the media in the construction of new socio-cultural realities.
- A atual pesquisa centrou-se na recolha de notícias nacionais e internacionais relacionadas com o filme Não Sou Nada – The Nothingness Club, do realizador português Edgar Pêra, tendo como limite temporal julho de 2020 e abril de 2024. De acordo com a motivação inicial, procurámos perceber, através do filme, que tipo de representações os média dedicavam a Fernando Pessoa e a Edgar Pêra. Havia, também, interesse em compreender que lugar ocuparia o filme na esfera pública, por via da mediação dos órgãos de comunicação social. A análise posterior dos dados forneceu algumas respostas para as dúvidas estabelecidas e encaminhou-nos para outro tipo de questões, que não havíamos conjeturado inicialmente. Assim, averiguámos que: a maioria da informação noticiosa veiculada em Portugal caracteriza-se pela reprodução acrítica de comunicados de imprensa ou de informação de agências noticiosas. Para lá das evidências enunciadas, nesta recensão, procurámos questionar o papel dos média na construção de novas realidades sócioculturais.
