- This article analyzes José Alejandro Castaño's 2003 book 'La isla de Morgan' and José Padilha's 2004 documentary 'Ônibus 174' as two examples of a recent category of nonfiction books and films that address favelas (slums) in Colombia and Brazil. These works address a large range of urban problems and at the same time witness about the economic, social, and political factors that affect displaced Brazilians and Colombians during the 20th and 21st centuries.
- Este artigo analisa o livro de José Alejandro Castaño, ‘La isla de Morgan’ (2003), e o documentário de José Padilha, ‘Ônibus 174’ (2004), como dois exemplos de uma categoria recente de livros e filmes não ficcionais que tematizam a favela na Colômbia e no Brasil. Essas obras abordam um largo espectro de problemas urbanos ao mesmo tempo em que testemunham sobre os fatores económicos, sociais e políticos que afetam brasileiros e colombianos em deslocamento durante os séculos XX e XXI.
