Description
- Abstract:
- Terracotta lamp with large filling and wick holes and a wide, forward facing lug with an abstracted face design. Highly ornamented lamp with faint traces of glaze. The body of the lamp is circular with an articulated wide spout. Circular décor around the raised central fill hole, with interior circles with varying numbers of dots inside. These circles also extend up to the fill hole in the pattern. Base of the lamp is circular with a similar dot motif raised on the base (seven circles ringing one internal circle) and a hatched border on the other side of the rim. Lamp clearly molded in top and bottom half and attached together. Signs of use around rim.
