- ‘Breviário do Brasil,’ by Agustina Bessa-Luís, is a memoir, the result of several trips to Brazil and of an intense emotional relationship with this South American country. We propose to read this book under a renewed comparative perspective: to analyze how the author's text writes the landscape, exploring various topics or dimensions: context and circumstances of writing; forms of representation of the Brazilian landscape and the role of literary and cultural memory; and also the clash of cultural identities and the proposal of a poetic Journey.
- ‘Breviário do Brasil’, de Agustina Bessa-Luís, é um livro de memórias, resultado de várias viagens ao Brasil e de uma intensa relação emocional com esse país sul-americano. Propomos ler este livro sob uma perspectiva comparativa renovada: analisar como o texto do autor escreve a paisagem, explorando vários tópicos ou dimensões: contexto e circunstâncias da escrita; formas de representação da paisagem brasileira e o papel da memória literária e cultural; e também o choque de identidades culturais e a proposta de uma Jornada poética.
