- Testimonies by Graciliano Ramos and Eneida, respectively in Memórias do cárcere and Aruanda: crônicas, are here presented, regarding the period when both were imprisioned during the Getulist dictatorship, in which are evoked feminine personalities, activists in the political scene of the years 1930, who were detained at the Primary’s Pavillion of the Detention House in Rio de Janeiro. Whereas Graciliano underestimates Getúlio Vargas’ role in the persecution of the Communist Party and succinctly describes some of the prisoners, Eneida depicts daily moments of her comrades, showing the hardship and cruelty of the regimen.
- Apresentam-se os testemunhos de Graciliano Ramos e Eneida respectivamente em Memórias do cárcere e Aruanda: crônicas, sobre o período em que ambos estiveram presos durante a ditadura getulista, em que são evocadas personalidades femininas, atuantes na cena política dos anos 1930 e que ficaram retidas no Pavilhão dos Primários, da Casa de Detenção do Rio de Janeiro. Enquanto Graciliano subetima o papel de Getúlio Vargas na perseguição política ao Partido Comunista e descreve laconicamente algumas prisioneiras, Eneida retrata momentos do dia a dia de suas companheiras, evidenciando a dureza e crueldade do regime.
