In search of the "other" through the night: a study of the double in a polyphonic perspective

Description

Abstract:
This article aims to analyze how duplicity -- understanding the term as a multiplied conscience – occurs among the characters of Erico Verissimo's novel Night. We will analyze which declarative-discursive positions the protagonist assumes in the narrative to show the duplicity of the subject in a polyphonic perspective. It is also intended to investigate how the description and the representation of the obscure space at Night reveal the state of soul of the protagonist and the identity crisis in which he is.
