- Abstract:
- Reentry is the process of transition from incarceration back into the community. This process remains a significant challenge in promoting health and reducing recidivism among Rhode Island’s juvenile population. This poster presentation addresses the high burden of psychiatric disorders among justice-involved youth, the services offered at the Rhode Island Training School, and the challenges faced by these youth upon reintroduction to the community after adjudication. The HOPE for Justice Clinic is introduced as an outpatient child & adolescent hospital-based psychiatry clinic dedicated to patients involved in the child welfare and juvenile legal systems, and is described as one component of a comprehensive juvenile reentry program.
