- Abstract:
- An essay is presented on the struggle for cultural and political rights of the Berber/Amazigh population in Morocco. The author stresses that previous mass demonstrations in the country involve demands for political transparency and social justice. She acknowledges establishment of ethnic and religious solidarity due to social media-enhanced youth movements. She also talks about the creation of the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture which incorporated three Berber dialects into state education.
