- The article discusses a review of studies to demonstrate adverse effects of neglecting to consider the importance of salience in foreign policymaking. Topics covered include the "issue salience" concept in political agenda, suggestions about a deal based on salience differential between Russia and the U.S. and expansion of the North American Treaty Organization (NATO). Also mentioned are considering factors that attribute to salience and the Global Threat Reduction Initiative (GTRI).
