- A view of the main façade of the chapel built by Bruant, with on its side the two pavillions built by Le Vau and Bellièvre. Le Vau refers to the official architect of Louis XIV. Pomponne de Bellièvre was one of the benefactors of the hospital in the early 17th century. The original intent of his donation was to enable the hospice to take care of the poor, but it became a detention institution. During the life of its benefactor, the almshouse would host 1/10th of the population of Paris.
