Abstract:
Madrid, 18 October 1965: From Nizar to Salma; Rainy weather in Madrid, mention of the poet Verlaine; Qabbani’s vacation in Portugal and Northern Spain, which is very different from the south; growing disillusionment with diplomacy and Qabbani’s post in Madrid; buying Spanish carpets on Kuzbari’s behalf.
