- Abstract:
- Bill Kennedy, who grew up near Mashapaug, discusses some childhood memories of the area. Most of the interview focuses on his working life, including 20 years of employment in the foundry and warehouse at Gorham and his experiences as a union member and organizer for the Steelworkers International Union (including grievances and arbitration). He remembers working conditions at Gorham, a wildcat strike, Korean war veterans at Gorham, and changes at Gorham when Textron took over.
