Lettered with title at top, 171 identifications keyed to the image along the sides, and at the bottom "Cum privilegio sumi Pontific per anos X et sub excommunicationis poena. Romae Anno Domini MDLXXXX. Tiberii Alpharani Hieracen authoris. Natalis Bonifacius Sibenicen Incidebat. Cum Licentia Superiorum"

From the collection of Vincent J. Buonanno
Derived from a drawing prepared by the clergyman Tiberio Alfarano, who had gathered documentation on St. Peter's Basiica and recorded its measurements. In 1589, Alfarano had received a ten-year privilege for the etching, confirming that he was also its publisher
