- Text signed and dated: "Paris, septembre 1871. Justin Lallier."
- The identity of the photographer is uncertain. Each of the prints includes the initials "P.L." (i.e. P. Loubére); but in the text Loubére is referred to as "un éditeur [qui] eut l'ingénieuse idée de consacrer dans une suite de vingt photographies les plaies saignantes de notre grand Paris".
- Bound in violet cloth; front cover title, "Album photographique des ruines de Paris", stamped in gold; all edges gilt.
