- Abstract:
- The author reflects on barriers to the internationalization of Portuguese historiography, by listing and discussing a series of factors, including both missing and forsaken opportunities: from the geographical peripherality of Portugal to the language problem; from neglected chances for putting together large-scale international networks to the parochialism of national institutions and lack of recognition of initiatives promoting internationalization.
- O autor reflecte sobre as barreiras à internacionalização da historiografia portuguesa, listando e examinando uma série de fatores, incluindo tanto oportunidades escassas quanto negligenciadas: desde a geografia periférica de Portugal ao problema da língua; desde as oportunidades negligenciadas de se estabelecerem redes internacionais de larga escala ao paroquialismo de instituições nacionais e à falta de reconhecimento de iniciativas promotoras de internacionalização.
