Description
- Abstract:
- The woman in this skirt falls slightly above the ankle. Her shoes are 'cothurnes' or very thin shoes with leather ribbons laced around the ankles. She has very wide sleeves, cut from circular patterns, en 'béret.' Her waist appears very small as the corset became very popular around this time. Also, her hat is enormous and decorated elaborately with feathers and ribbons. Abstract sources: Ruppert, Jacques. Le Costume Français.
