- The woman depicted in this plate is wearing a red redingote, modelled after British riding dresses. The skirt remains fairly narrow and the waist is fairly low. She is also wearing a bonnet with a plume, which was fashionable at the time. Abstract source: Challamel, Augustin. Histoire de la Mode en France.
