Description

Abstract:
This interview took place in April 1991, when Affonso Romano de Sant'Anna was in Porto Alegre, participating in the seminar "New Routes for Old Readings," sponsored by the Municipal Secretary of Culture. Affonso was invited to talk about the concept of literature and, at the time, defended that the critic must be able to read the opposites in the most objective way possible. During the interview, the author of "What country is this?" ("Que país é este?") and "Amorous Cannibalism" ("Canibalismo amoroso") reviewed some of his experience as a teacher, literary theorist, essayist, poet, and journalist interested in exploring the languages of newspaper and video.
