- Abstract:
- In constructing the "Brazil hypothesis" in his attempt to link the national to the universal, José de Alencar—in the dynamic of memory and oblivion—lives the present as a texture that penetrates the connection of the interior and exterior, the jungle and the city, and the difficult consortium (which remains in the reader's imagination) of the non-identical Peri and Ceci.
