Description
- Abstract:
- This article claims that the historiographic perspective has held a dominant position in Brazilian literary studies since their inception, because it was the perspective that responded best to the desires of the ruling intellectual elite. From the success obtained in determining its object and in revealing its national leanings, the result was a recognition of a greater aspiration to prove the independent, self-sufficient existence of the country. This practice has not been overcome, because the issue that foments it still exists. Alternative projects can change the scene, as long as they are aligned with the prospect of renewing Brazilian society. This was in the past and continues to be the romantic response of figures now forgotten by our history but whose voices still echo in the present.
