- This text establishes relationships between Ezra Pound's theory of poetic translation and that of Haroldo de Campos, chronicling the art of translation and pointing out its developments. It emphasizes, in Haroldo's translations of classical or modern poetry, the production of the new criterion regarding how they should arrive to the reader's present. As a translator-critic, Haroldo de Campos is considered the embodiment of the translator of poetry described by Pound.
- O ensaio estabelece relações entre a teoria da tradução poética de Ezra Pound e a de Haroldo de Campos, historiando sua arte tradutória e apontando seus avanços. Destaca, nas traduções de Haroldo de poesia clássica ou moderna, a produção de um novo critério sobre como deveriam chegar ao presente do leitor. Como tradutor-crítico, Haroldo de Campos é considerado o paradigma do tradutor de poesia delineado por Pound.
