- Abstract:
- Frustration in recent decades regarding postmodern aesthetics' non-referential use of language has triggered a reaction known as post-postmodernism, which rejects the absence of social relations in literature and instead seeks to reaffirm the humanity of interpersonal relationships. ln this article, I locate Hatoum in an emerging post-postmodern aesthetic via an analysis of the ability to represent experience by the narrator in his second novel, ‘Dois Irmãos’ (2000).
- A frustração nas últimas décadas em relação ao uso não-referencial da linguagem pela estética pós-moderna desencadeou uma reação conhecida como pós-pós-modernismo, que rejeita a ausência de relações sociais na literatura e procura reafirmar a humanidade das relações interpessoais. Neste artigo, localizo Hatoum em uma estética pós-pós-moderna emergente através de uma análise da capacidade de representar a experiência do narrador em seu segundo romance, "Dois Irmãos" (2000).
